Working of TV cables

TV cables are mostly coaxial cables or fiber optical cables that are connected to the television sets. Cable television is the system of providing television to consumers via radio frequency signals transmitted to televisions through fixed optical fiber TV cables or coaxial TV cables as opposed to the over-the-air method used in traditional television broadcasting in which a television antenna is required.
With these TV cables, FM Radio programming, high-speed internet, telephony, IPTV and similar non television services may also be provided. The TV signals that are transmitted from the TV station or the studio by dish antennas through the atmosphere to the satellite are collected back to a receiving station which holds an antenna tuned to a particular up link and down link frequency. The collected signals are then boosted with the cable signal booster and fed to the TV cables. Tv cables run through the streets in any local area and connections are taken from the TV cables using splitters or junction boxes.
Again another Tv cable is connected to the television set from the splitter. As the signal is transmitted, they reach the splitter and then the splitter diverts the signal to the Tv cable which leads to the television set. Hence signal is carried to the television set and picture is shown after the television set processes the signal. At some places, optical fibers are used for faster communication. In IPTV connections, the television signal and internet access are linked so that the user can have access to both with the same type of TV cables.
